Which of the three routes suits my project?

As a rule of thumb: turnkey if you want the finished building and your time is needed in the business. Have it built if you hand over the entire timber construction but award the foundations and fit-out yourself. Build it yourself if you have your own skilled people for the assembly and deliberately want to keep value creation in house. Which column fits your case is usually settled in a single conversation.

Can I switch route later on?

Yes. The choice is not made at the start but in the course of the design work: as long as the quote is unsigned, the scope can be shifted. Even afterwards, individual services remain negotiable — if you meant to assemble the hall yourself and no team is free at short notice, you can hand the assembly over later.

Does the construction differ depending on the route chosen?

No. Engineering, detailing and cutting are identical across all three routes. A hall kit contains the same components an X-Wood® assembly team would raise, and it is calculated to the same structural design. The difference lies solely in the services around the structure.

Is building it yourself cheaper than having it built?

The price follows the scope: the more steps sit with X-Wood®, the higher the invoice — and the less effort, coordination and risk stay with you. A kit is therefore not automatically cheaper once you count your own team's working hours. On request you will get the ballpark price for more than one route, so you can see the difference in euros rather than by feel.

Q: What is the X-Wood® System?

The X-Wood® System is the way of building behind every X-Wood® hall: a glulam structure — X-purlins or trussed beams — designed and engineered in house and cut at the X-Cam® plant in Kall. Three levels of service build on it: have it built, build turnkey and build it yourself. The building is the same in all three cases; all that differs is which steps X-Wood® takes on.

Structure, engineering and cutting are the same in every X-⁠Wood^® hall. All that changes is how much you hand over — and that is exactly what you decide here.

The structures

X-purlins and trussed beams.

Two systems developed in house for the same job: a hall with no columns in the way. As a three-pin frame, the X-purlins span up to 25 metres clear depending on snow load; trussed beams go further and carry overhead cranes and high roof loads.

Which system your hall gets is decided by span and use — not by the scope of service you choose.

The production

Cut in our own plant.

The components of every X-⁠Wood^® hall are made at X-Cam^® in Kall, on one of the most capable cutting lines in Germany: kiln-dried, machined to the millimetre, delivered in assembly sequence.

That is why even a kit is not a delivery of materials. What is made precisely in the plant goes up quickly on site — whoever's team is standing there.
